Netwrix Releases Auditor 8.5 with Enhanced Hybrid Cloud Visibility

October 18, 2016

More organizations are migrating to the cloud, and for those that have to abide by regulatory compliances, hybrid cloud is the preferred choice. With hybrid deployments, there are more options for controlling and securing sensitive data to comply with regulations and protect the organization as a whole. The new Netwrix Auditor 8.5 protects user activity across hybrid cloud IT infrastructures with a 360-degree visibility for threat detection and data access governance.

According to Netwrix, it was the first vendor to introduce visibility and governance for on-premises, hybrid and cloud IT environments. The solutions the company provides is used by more than 160,000 IT departments globally so they can improve productivity of IT security and operations teams with better insider threat detection on-premises and in the cloud. This has resulted in these organizations passing compliance audits with less expense across all industries.

The new Netwrix Auditor is powered with a RESTful API and user activity video recording so administrators can view and control virtually everything across on-premises and cloud-based IT systems in a unified way. With this type of visibility, irregularities in user behavior can be detected much faster so they can be investigated to determine or learn from threat patterns before there is a breach.

With Auditor 8.5, organizations that have deployed Azure AD, Office 365, Oracle Database and SQL Server can audit these platforms to quickly detect and investigate suspicious activity. The user behavior and blind spot analysis is a new capability that simplifies easy detection of user behavior that is out of the ordinary. According to Netwrix, if someone is accessing sensitive or stale data and there is more activity outside of business hours, around harmful files on a corporate data storage and files containing sensitive data or higher number of failed activity the new analysis can detect them.

The new add-ons in the Netwrix Auditor Add-on Store allows for easy integration of security information and event management (SIEM) solutions, including Splunk, IBM Security QRadar, AlienVault USM, Solarwinds Log & Event Manager, Intel Security and LogRhythm. With the add-on feature, organizations can increase the value of existing security applications by feeding them granular audit data from Netwrix Auditor.

“As cloud technology is taking over the market, most organizations gravitate towards a hybrid cloud model. Our customers are part of this trend, so in this product release, we have significantly improved Netwrix Auditor to provide 360-degree visibility into hybrid cloud IT environments. User behavior analysis enables companies to eliminate blind spots and ensure granular control over user activities from a single console,” commented Michael Fimin, CEO and co-founder of Netwrix.

The digital threat landscape is getting more dangerous as the ability of hackers continues to improve. This is further exacerbated by the migration to the cloud, where security protocols can vary from vendor to vendor. The visibility Netwrix Auditor 8.5 may not solve all of your security issues, but it will give you valuable data so you can take the appropriate action to protect your resources.
